Terms and conditions
These terms apply to every order on this website. By ordering you agree to them.
This is a translation for your convenience. In case of any difference, the Dutch version on mahowa.be/voorwaarden governs.

2. What these terms apply to
These terms apply to every offer on this website and to every contract that follows from it between us and you as the buyer. Departures from them apply only if we have confirmed them in writing.
If you buy as a consumer, your mandatory statutory rights always continue to apply; nothing in these terms detracts from them.
3. Our offer and the prices
- All prices are in euro. The price you see is the price you pay.
- Shipping costs are shown separately before you confirm the order.
- The price that applies is the price at the moment you order.
- Solid oak is a natural material. Colour, grain, knots and figure differ from board to board; the photos show the character of the wood, not the exact piece you receive. With a unique piece or a piece you choose yourself, the photo shown is that piece.
- Obvious errors in price or description do not bind us.
4. How an order comes about
The contract comes about as soon as we confirm your order by email. We may refuse an order or propose a different arrangement — for example when a size is not technically sound. In that case you pay nothing, or you get back an amount already paid.
5. Payment
You pay when you order, with the payment methods offered on the website. With a bank transfer we only start work once the amount has been received.
6. Delivery
- We deliver in Belgium and the Netherlands. For other countries we make a separate price.
- The stated period is 8 to 10 working days. That period is an indication; if it runs over, we let you know in time.
- Collection at our workshop is possible by appointment.
- The risk of damage or loss passes to you as soon as you — or someone you designate — take receipt of the shipment.
- If you find transport damage on receipt, let us know within a few days with a photo. We will then look for a solution together.
7. Right of withdrawal
As a consumer you have in principle 14 days to withdraw from the purchase without giving a reason. That period starts on the day you or someone you designate takes receipt of the product.
Important exception. The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly intended for you personally (art. VI.53, 3° of the Code of Economic Law). At MAHOWA that means in concrete terms:

With a one-off piece from SELECT or Objects that you order unchanged, the right of withdrawal does apply. If you have a SELECT board cut to your length, it is made to your instruction and the right does not apply.
If you want to withdraw, let us know unambiguously within the period. The quickest way is withdraw from contract here: you get an acknowledgement of receipt by email straight away, with date and time. A message via contact or the model form below works too. Then send the product back within 14 days, complete and packed with sufficient protection. The direct costs of returning it are yours. We refund all payments, including the standard delivery costs, within 14 days of receiving your notice, and may wait until we have the product back or you have shown that you sent it.
If the value of the product has decreased because you did more with it than was needed to assess it — by drilling or treating it, for example — we may deduct that decrease in value.
Model withdrawal form
You do not have to use this form; a clear message via contact is enough. Fill it in only if you want to withdraw from the purchase.

8. Warranty
Our products carry the statutory warranty of conformity of two years from delivery. If a product turns out not to be in order, you are entitled to repair or replacement, and in the cases the law provides for, to a price reduction or rescission.
What is not a defect, because it belongs to solid wood:
- differences in colour, grain, knots and figure;
- fine cracks in the end grain and the natural movement of the wood with changing humidity;
- the natural darkening of oak under the influence of light.
Also not covered is damage from incorrect mounting, overloading, moisture, placement above a heat source or in full sun, or from normal wear. Our mounting material is meant for a solid wall; with plasterboard or a hollow wall you must provide suitable plugs yourself — feel free to ask us for advice before you order.
9. Complaints
If you have a complaint, let us know first via contact. We answer within a few working days and look for a solution together. If you do not reach one with us, as a consumer you can turn free of charge to the Belgian Consumer Mediation Service (Koning Albert II-laan 8 bus 1, 1000 Brussels). The European ODR platform this page referred to before was discontinued on 20 July 2025.
10. Force majeure
If we cannot meet our obligations because of a circumstance beyond our control — a supplier failing or transport problems, for instance — performance is suspended. If that lasts longer than is reasonable, either party may end the contract without compensation. Amounts already paid are refunded.

12. Applicable law
Belgian law applies to every contract. Disputes are put before the competent courts; if you buy as a consumer, the court of your place of residence applies.
